I was fortunate enough to be able to listen to a talk presented by John and Nilla Spark during the 2 day Alpha Leadership training program. John and Nilla were intending to attend the Sydney UYMG workshop but they had to be in Western Australia for the Australian Post Regional Franchise Award of the Year. They actually won the award too, so what an amazing effort.
John and Nilla spoke about how combining generations in businesses can be very beneficial if you use the right approach. I could relate to what they had to say, as I am currently working my business with my dad and my 16 year old son and I certainly feel that it is beneficial for me.
Typically, the baby boomers and generation X have more experience than those from generation Y, but the generation Y age group tends to perform better in technical procedures. However there are some other differences.
Generation Y people have been bought up where they want everything now. They have a different mindset to the older generations.
John and Nilla employ generation Y people and they told us that they often had to keep their mouths shut and let the generation Y people do their own thing.
They spoke about an example where 6 or so staff would go out for lunch, leaving only 2 to handle all of the work. It is not the way that John and Nilla would have run the place, but they feel that it is best to let them manage their selves. Generation Y people are very resourceful and can find ways of coping.
Generation Y people do not like to be told what to do. They will often leave a job if they feel that their boss is slightly a dictator.
If you want to get the most out of a generation Y person, then you are best to ask them 2 questions.
What is important to you?
Why is that important to you?
Earlier we had played a game with Stephen and Alicia Pierce that showed what type of person we were. There were 4 different categories that were similar to Analytical People, Evaluators, Creative People and Action People.
For a successful business it is best to have all 4 types of people in it. What I have learned here is that it is also beneficial to have varying generations in a business.
I recently returned from UYMG Sydney yesterday, brilliantly engineered by Stephen and Alicia Pierce, and I am still on a high at the moment. Not only did I learn a great deal from it, but I also met loads of lovely people and I also had a ton of fun.
If anyone is interested in internet marketing and has the opportunity to go to one of these events in the future, then I highly recommend that you do it. The next UYMG event for Sydney is scheduled for 14-16th March 2008. So do not miss it.
As a bonus, I was extremely lucky to be part of the Alpha Leadership group. I would like to thank James Soh for recommending me to apply for the group. We had a close knit group that endeavored to make the event go as smoothly as possible and also to help make it a fun, worthwhile and memorable event for all that attended.
The awesome Kerri Witt was our group captain and she did rather well, particularly considering she had never been to an UYMG before. Sern Yi, Jason Tan, Gary Byrne and to a lesser degree, Veit Mehler were our experienced members.
I was a novice alongside the likes of Joey and Richard Marc, Janet Rundle, Tim Lee and Milan Lesnansky. In my opinion, it is great to progress in groups and we have a powerful one here.
While being in the Alpha Leadership group I was privileged to see how Stephen and Alicia worked behind the scenes. All I can say is that they are amazing, genuine and awesome people. They complement each other so well. I am so fortunate to have them as my mentors.
The event was “full on” and they had people wanting to talk to them all the time and yet they gave the time for everyone in a pleasant and professional manner. Stephen and Alicia helped make the event so vibrant and enjoyable.
I intend to write more about this event and the speakers in the future and will also provide some more photos. So stay tuned.
On Tuesday night I went to see John Edward at Chandler in Brisbane with my girlfriend Maureen. It was his last performance in his Australian tour. I had bought the tickets for Maureen for her birthday and we attended the function with her Scottish friends Gary and Jenny.
When we arrived, I noticed that many of the people that attended were females. So if you are a single male, then you may want to consider going to such a performance. lol.
John mentioned some interesting stories at the start, including his personal experiences with mediums many years ago. He seemed impressed at how spirituality has grown over the years.
He mentioned how he liked to return home with a funny story to tell. As it turned out that funny story developed in Sydney. He mentioned that he went into McDonald’s and when he was about to go out his spirit guides told him to go back in. He trusted his spirit guides and then went back in. Afterwards, he went back out and was about to walk back to his hotel but his spirit guides were suggesting that he should not go that way. So he walked in the other direction. After a while he found himself in the presence of 3 individuals dressed in suits. He had no idea what they were about, but they were asking him if he was the Gate Keeper. As it turned out, they were from the ABC program “The Chaser’s War On Everything”.
Below is a video of this skit. It is quite funny.
Anyway, it looks as though John has spirit guides with a sense of humour, if you believe in spirit guides of course.
Maureen and I were happy that we got to see the John Edward show, although we probably will not go again. There were quite a lot of people there and it seemed that many of the people who needed to get readings and got them struggled to understand what was going on which dragged the readings out. We would have liked to have heard more readings in the performance.
Earlier this year both Maureen and I decided to go to a psychic fair. After walking around for a while we both decided to get some photos taken of ourselves by a special aura camera. Auras are electro-magnetic fields that surround the human body. We had watched others getting their photos taken and the results gave all sorts of different combinations of colours. We were both interested to see what ours would look like.
How does it work? I do not know the full details, but we were required to place both of our hands on pads that had sensors on them. These pads were connected in some way to a special camera. A picture of this camera, pads and its specifications can be seen here. I suspect the sensors picked up the temperature or electro-magnetic energy of different parts of your hands and that determined the colours that showed in the final product, but that is just guessing.
Anyway, I was brave enough to get my photo taken first. After almost 2 minutes the lady who took the photo gave it to me. It showed a magnificent display of Pink, Red and Orange colours surrounding my body. This photo was different from any of the others that I had seen others get. It was then Maureen’s turn to get hers done. The lady that took Maureen’s photo was very surprised when she saw Maureen’s aura. The photo showed an aura almost identical to mine. We were all amazed because everyone elses auras were quite different to those of mine and Maureen’s. You can see the results for yourself below. Note you can find a sample of other types of auras taken by such a camera here.
After we were given our photo’s we were then entitled to a reading. The lady who gave me a reading told me quite a few details, but the main point that I remember was that I have a lot of passion about a project at the moment and that the project will succeed due to the great creativity I possess. I took it that my internet marketing was about to kick off. Strangely enough, shortly after I became a student of Stephen Pierce and my interent marketing has begun to take a turn.
We were given a colour interpretation as well and I will share it below.
Red – The first colour of the spectrum represents fire, passion and vitality.
Orange – This colour relates to ambition, drive and lateral thought. Self expression is important.
Yellow – The colour of the intellect. Yellow also shows an affinity to variety and happiness.
Green – The central colour of the spectrum, Green signifies balance. Healing and teaching are enhanced.
Blue – Peace and truth are associated with Blue, showing an ability to demonstrate sensitivity and contentment.
Violet – The mystical, magical colour. Eroticism, charm and enchantment can appear with Violet.
Pink – A light shade of Red. While active, the added White modifies the vibration to create the love colour.
White – A combination of all the colours, representing the ability to tap into all energies.
Both Maureen and I feel that having similar auras means that we possess similar energies near us that assist in the attraction between us.
In this blog, I intend to share some of my knowledge in areas that I have become knowledgeable in (mostly internet marketing and self development).I also will show off some of my family and friends. I hope that you find it interesting and useful.
I will eventually go into more detail with the About Me page, but I shall give you some brief details here first.
I was born in South Australia in the countryside, but moved to Adelaide when I was 4. I then moved to Melbourne when I was 21 and a year later moved to Queensland. I still live in Queensland today.
While growing up as a child, I had a passion for sport, nature and mathematics. I was also obsessed with statistics when I was quite young and my parents were amazed how I would spend hours recording statistical information on almost anything.
I completed a science degree and then did honors in Meteorology and Oceanography. I have had almost 20 years experience as a weather forecaster, but my main passion at the moment is in internet marketing. I recently decided to have Stephen Pierce as my mentor. He is an amazing man who has been exceptionally successful in internet marketing and is more than worthy as a mentor for me.
